Hello all!
Who of you have been doing InkTober in the last week?
I managed to put out 5 drawings but on some days it’s hard to not bail out or make something fast and easy. I also discovered already that I tend to skip my own rule of “think before you draw” I talked about that in this blogpost about confidence. This can lead to some pretty boring stuff so I should make sure to watch out for that.
Anyway, here are the results so far:
Some warm up sketches of Robbie and Max. I had no pencil with me so the underdrawing is also in ink. Messed up a little with the anatomy, but I like the costume on Robbie specifically.
My character Bern, I wanted to draw an action this time.
A drawing I referenced from Pinterest, but I can’t find the original source.
It’s a practise in inking “soft” textures like clouds and dust. Ink has full blown opacity when you’re drawing with a pen like I did. You get gradients by literally drawing them in with crosshatching or other kinds of texture. Also line weight plays a huge role.
This is the one from yesterday. A friendly sea dragon curious enough to make it close to the beach. Just a fun drawing to do.

See you next week!
