I have something special planned for next week!
I will upload a short video every day for 5 days, starting this Monday.
For 2019, I wanted to start out with a bang and give you something super helpful that would start you off on the right foot in the new year.
So the video series is called “set your artistic goals for 2019.”
Obviously you can start making goals every single day of the year, even if it’s November. But the start of a new year always feels kind of special and is as good a time as any to get clear and get going when it comes to the art you want to make.
To top it all of I will be hosting a free online workshop on January 7th that will dive into starting 2019 with a bang. You will be able to ask questions about the videos and I will guide you through coming up with your first actions and planning it into your week.
I will turn these videos and the workshop into a powerful mini-course about setting artistic goals later in 2019. If you attend the workshop you will get that mini-course for free when it’s finished.
This is going to be next week’s program on Youtube and here, on Pencils & Stories.com:
Monday: video 1 – What do you want in 2019?
We are going to pick a focus from all the possible ideas and current projects you probably have. Focus ensures that you can work on something smarter and finish faster.
Tuesday: video 2 – Creating goals you can finish
We usually have many intentions and goals for the new year. But not every goal we set is something we can finish. This video helps you create goals that have a beginning and ending and that propel you into action.
Wednesday: video 3 – Setting yourself up for success
Setting goals is nice and all, but what do you do on a daily basis? How do you make sure you will actually do the things you’re supposed to be doing in order to get where you want to go?
Thursday: video 4 – When things get tough
We have now set ourselves up so we can start working on our goals. But all our lives have seasons and unexpected events that happen. What do we do when the going gets tough? No system is bullet proof, but one thing we can do is prepare for the things we know we will run into.
Friday: video 5 – Celebrating and maintenance
Every journey has milestones and successes. It’s important to acknowledge our progress to stay motivated and have a feeling of getting closer to our goals. Maintenance is also important: regular reviewing if you’re still on the right track and adjusting when necessary.
To start off the series, here is a short introduction video I recorded that talks a bit about the different productivity systems out there:
I hope you’re excited for this coming Monday and the entire week! I sure am!
You can watch all of the videos here on the website or access the playlist where I’ll add the upcoming videos to here.
Remember to register for the workshop, I’m excited to see what you will do in 2019!
